Have you seen the news? Fresh off the AP, “His spirit broken by financial fears, German billionaire Adolf Merckle took his own life this week — becoming the latest high-profile casualty of a global economic crisis that already has claimed the lives of executives in Europe and the U.S.” This guy had a family–a wife and four kids. There were more of these kinds of stories, too.
It just goes to show you that even high profile, wealthy businessmen need a plan B. If he had only had home-based business, he would have had something to fall back on in these troubled times. I am not trying to make light of the situation at all. Even Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki tell us how smart having a home-based business is. And they are probably some of the most successful people on the planet. I think they know what they are talking about.
Let’s learn the lesson here. Any job, business, investment, or whatever, no matter how seemingly secure they are at the moment, can be gone tomorrow. The age-old adages totally apply here: Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Dig your well before you need the water. Start making money from home.
